Objectives: The present study was conducted to describe health services provided for Ain Shams University (ASU) students, to measure awareness and utilization of such services by ASU students and to measure the degree of satisfaction of students and health care providers of these services. Methods: A cross section study was carried out on 1090 Ain Shams University (ASU) students in different faculties, attendants of the university medical centres, hospital and outpatient clinics and 65 health care providers of the services in these sites. Self administered questionnaire was addressed to students inquiring about their awareness and utilization of the university health services and their satisfaction of these services. Health care providers were asked about the types and quality of services they provide and their satisfaction as an internal customer of the service. Results: From a total of 1090 students participated in the study, about 81.2% were aware about the services of medical administration and 67.2% of them had a history of utilization of these services. Only 23.8% of students attended health education sessions in their faculties, and 47.3% knew about health education sessions from their friends and 38.2% from posters in the faculty. About half of the students rated different aspects of health services offered by medical administration as poor and average. When asking medical staff about their satisfaction regarding the quality of services provided to students, around two third (67%) of them rated it as ‘average’ and ‘bad’ for most of the services. Conclusion and Recommendations: Services provided to ASU students are not satisfactory for both the university students and the health care providers. Several factors affect the quality of the services provided. Management processes inside the maternal health units and the follow up process play an important role. Aim: to assess clients’ satisfaction with the management process and the follow up process inside 10 maternal health care units in El Fayoum and Beni suef governorates. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted in 5 rural maternal health units in Beni suef governorate and 5 rural maternal health units in El Fayoum governorate. An interview questionnaire was used to assess women’ satisfaction to the set of some activities within the health care facilities. Results: results showed that 87.1% of clients in the 10 health care units reported that registration process was easy. 87.1% of clients reported that waiting area was comfortable. Regarding waiting time, only 59.3% of clients found that it was acceptable. Moreover, medical examination duration and place were assessed and results showed that 72.1% of pregnant women reported that medical examination was done in a proper and private place while 66.9% of clients reported that time spend during medical examination was enough. Majority of clients (99.3%) reported that the price of the ticket was reasonable. 66.6% of clients were notified of the timing of the next visit. Moreover, 65% of clients were satisfied of the care during the follow up visits. Only 30.7% of clients were notified of the place of referral in case of complications. Conclusion: Majority of women reported satisfaction with almost all the management processes and follow up schedules inside the health care units. This needs more assessment to frame the rehabilitation and treatment programs and policies of chronic renal failure patients. General objective: to promote QoL of hemodialysis (HD) patients. Specific objectives to descube QoL among these patients. Methodology: The study is a cross section study conducted on patients with ESRD on regular HD at Talkha central hospital, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. Health related QoL (HRQoL) was assessed using the validated Kidney Disease QoL-Short Form (KDQOL-SF) tool. It includes one multi-item scale. Results: The patients’ QOL scores were very low (below 50) for all subscales. The highest score was on social function (38.86±21 Range 25.0 - 87.5), physical function (33.87±13.76 Range 4.55 - 68.18) and Overall Health Rating (35.61±10.03 Range14.31- 61.15) were directing very weakly to the best and the lowest was on role of physical function (8.59 ± 21.46 Range 0 - 100), and Pain (17.18 ± 8.07Range 25.0 - 66.67) . The relationship between occupational exposure to noise and blood pressure is subject to debate in occupational medicine Objective: the study objectives were to measure the prevalence of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and hypertension among dry food factory workers and to determine the association between them Methods: a cross-sectional study was conducted among workers in dry foods factory. The study included 268 workers selected randomly from the four factory departments. All participants were subjected to pure tone audiometry, blood pressure measurements and BMI calculations, as well as personal and occupational history taking. Results:NIHL was present among 15.3% of workers (n=41); mild NIHL represented 65.9% of NIHL cases, moderate and severe NIHL represented 29.3% and 4.9% of cases respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that age, employment duration, smoking, and irregular use of personal protective devices (PPD) were significant risk factors for occupational NIHL. Hypertension was present among 16% (n=43) of workers. On multivariate analysis, hypertension were independently associated with longer employment duration, smoking, family history of hypertension, and NIHL. Conclusion NIHL and Hypertension were not uncommon among dry food factory workers. They were both associated with longer employment duration, and smoking. NIHL was strongly associated with the irregular use of PPD. Hypertension was significantly related to unprotected chronic exposure to noise. The strict usage of PPD can decrease the prevalence of both NIHL and hypertension among exposed workers}, keywords = {Occupational,Noise-NIHL-Hypertension}, url = {https://ejcm.journals.ekb.eg/article_858.html}, eprint = {https://ejcm.journals.ekb.eg/article_858_b86ea4da998f2fe35fbae55b87035fc9.pdf} }
